Timeless, classic interiors with modern sensibilities

Karina Oldemans is an internationally renowned interior designer and a connoisseur of antiques. She was born and raised in Finland, educated in France and is living in Los Angeles. Karina studied interior design in Paris, graduating in the Interior Architecture department of the Ecole Superieure des Arts Modernes. She enjoyed a thriving design practice from 1975 to 2018. Her creative talent, attention to detail and understanding of her clients’ needs made her a sought-after designer. Karina’s extensive travels and knowledge of art, architecture and design inspired the visual sophistication she brought to her interiors.

Named one of six “Rising Stars” in the country by Interior Design magazine in 1995, Karina and her work have been published in the best national and international design publications. She has been featured on Discovery Channel’s Interior Motives program, on HGTV’s Kitty Bartholomew-You’re Home, on ABC’s Beautiful Homes and Great Estates and Finland’s Inno. In addition to penning her own blog, Karina has written articles on interior design, textiles and oriental rugs and lectured on subjects relating to art and design. She served on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers on two occasions and received the prestigious Edna O’Brien Award for her service. She was a docent at the J. Paul Getty Museum from 1984 to 1996 and has been a docent at the Getty Villa since 2016. Her clientele included entertainment personalities, famous authors and diplomats.

Karina retired in 2018 and has enjoyed pursuing her passion for travel and expanding her knowledge of art, antiques and antiquities.
